The Future Oxford Legacy Fund provides seed funding to entrepreneurs, businesses and partnerships to develop new and sustainable community and regional opportunities that align with the Future Oxford Community Sustainability Plan.

Applications for funds are granted in two streams:

  • Access to Capital and Community Development Support. The “Access to Capital” funding stream provides capital (loans) for entrepreneurial activities, with an emphasis on youth opportunities, arts and culture, tourism, high-tech manufacturing, and green technology.
  • Community Development Support. This stream offers grants to not-for-profit projects.

To apply, a business or project does not need to be considered “green,” but you do need to show you have a sustainable business model that supports a sustainable Oxford County.

Applications are assesed on how they further the goals, objectives and targets of the Future Oxford Community Sustainability Plan using the Future Oxford multi-criteria assessment tool. This tool uses a weighted “sustainability score card” to assess community building, economic, and environmental strengths.

The Future Oxford Legacy Fund is a partnership between Oxford CountyFuture Oxford Partnership and Community Futures Oxford (formerly Oxford Small Business Support Centre). Community Futures Oxford administers the fund by accepting, screening and assessing applications.
