Oxford Small Business Support Centre Inc. now operating as Community Futures Oxford

INGERSOLL, ON, December 15, 2016

The Oxford Small Business Support Centre Inc. announced today that its board of directors recently approved a change for the organization to now operate as Community Futures Oxford. The change is part of a re-branding initiative that was identified as a priority in the organization’s Strategic Plan. The non-profit corporation has been in existence since 1993 and is a  leading hub that cultivates entrepreneurship and community economic development in Oxford.

In addition to a name change, Community Futures Oxford has also launched a new website, www.cfoxford.ca. The organization is also announcing a new fund that will support projects that balance Oxford’s collective economic, community and environmental interests.

“We are excited about our new corporate identity and website that will also feature the newly-seeded FutureOxford Legacy Fund. Our new name and website help to reflect the strategic direction of our organization,” says David Harding, President of Community Futures Oxford. “The FutureOxford Legacy Fund represents another milestone for the organization.”

The FutureOxford Legacy Fund is a partnership with the County of Oxford and the FutureOxford Partnership. The Fund will propel the Community Sustainability Plan which was adopted by Oxford County Council. Projects will be funded based on their ability to create a vibrant and sustainable Oxford while supporting the actions items identified in the Community Sustainability Plan.

About Community Futures Oxford (CFO)

Community Futures Oxford is a non-profit organization and a Community Futures Development Corporation that nurtures entrepreneurship and economic development. The mission of CFO is the creation and preservation of jobs throughout Oxford County by supporting small business development, entrepreneurship and skills training and by fostering community economic development. Funding is received from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, the County of Oxford, and the City of Woodstock.

Since 1993, CFO has supported hundreds of entrepreneurs with financing, coaching, and skills training.  Financing in amounts of up to $250, 000 is available to loan clients to assist in starting or expanding their businesses. The organization has also funded numerous economic development initiatives and projects with grants and in-kind support within Oxford. Community Futures Oxford is located in downtown Ingersoll and has a team of 4 experienced professionals ready to support small business.
